The students, staff and neighbors of your school are invited to walk with students, families and other community leaders in a celebration of Walk to School Day on October 10, 2018.
Walk to School Day is a great opportunity to show your support for child and youth pedestrian and bicyclist safety in your community. Twenty three schools participated in 2017, including Capitol Hill School Cluster, School without Walls, and St. Peter’s School. This year, we would like to surpass the numbers obtained in 2017 and get more participation from the charter school community. Safekids District of Columbia is participating in the event and sponsoring schools in Wards 7 and 8.
I would welcome the chance to talk to you or your staff about how to best involve you in the celebration. We hope you will say a few words (we try to keep it brief so our students can get to class on time) about your commitment to child and pedestrian safety. You may be interested in the suggested talking points available at www.walkbiketoschool.org where you can also sign-up to show your commitment to this worthwhile event.
I hope to hear from you soon.
