2017-2018 HSA Meeting Dates are the 2nd Thursday of Even Months at 6pm:
October 12th, December 14th, February 8th, and April 12th 6:00pm in the SWWFS Cafeteria.
Dear SWWFS Families:
This year your HSA is focused on two things:
BUILDING COMMUNITY & COMMUNICATION
How does your HSA intend to accomplish these goals?
WITH YOUR HELP!
This school year, the HSA is ELIMINATING DUES. Every SWWFS FAMILY is now a VOTING MEMBER OF THE HSA. That said, with this NEW STRUCTURE, it is ESSENTIAL that all SWWFS FAMILIES, become a TRUE PARTNER with the HSA, by helping us with either DONATIONS, TIME, IDEAS, and most importantly:
Because if we AREN’T TALKING, we AREN’T GROWING TOGETHER.
SWWFS recently lost our TITLE 1 FUNDING. This means that many of our FAVORITE PROGRAMS that we HOPED TO EXPAND OR INTRODUCE are at GRAVE RISK WITHOUT YOUR SUPPORT (either FINANCIALLY via DONATION or VOLUNTEERING). Some of the most ENDANGERED ARE:
- TECHNOLOGY IN OUR CLASSROOMS
- PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR OUR TEACHERS
- OUR SCHOOL GARDEN
In addition to SAVING OUR ALREADY “AT RISK” PROGRAMS, your HSA has NEW INITATIVES we want to INTRODUCE and NEED YOUR SUPPORT TO DO SO, including:
- A SCHOOL PLAY
- OUR OWN VANS to TRANSPORT OUR STUDENTS to FIELD TRIPS and SPORTING EVENTS, instead of being reliant on the METRO SYSTEM
- An EXPANSION OF FOODPRINTS into the MIDDLE SCHOOL
- Starting a STUDENT COUNCIL
SWWFS is more than where WE SEND OUR CHILDREN DURING THE DAY, it is A COMMUNITY and their HOME AWAY FROM HOME. If we WANT OUR CHILDREN AND OUR TEACHERS TO HAVE THE BEST, we must all WORK TOGETHER TO MAKE SURE THEY HAVE IT!
